After both graduated from the University of Arkansas, Sam and Hannah met out on the town, through mutual friends... at least, that's how Sam recalls it. Hannah's recollection includes a brief crossing of paths one night in their senior year of college, but that brief encounter obviously wasn't impactful to Sam! In the summer of 2021, Hannah had just come back from a year of working in Michigan and Sam was settling back into Arkansas after working in California for the summer. Hannah had just bought her house in Fayetteville and was excited to tell anyone who would listen where it was located. With Hannah's friends mostly being recent grads and not originally from the area, few were familiar with Hannah's new side of town. When Hannah went to explain where her house was located to Sam, she was thinking there was no way he would know where it was located. No one else had that night! As it turns out, Hannah's new house was actually in the back of the neighborhood where Sam had grown up! Sam and Hannah were fast friends, which is what they remained for the next year and a half.
Fast forward 18 months and Sam and Hannah are starting to realize they have a lot of the same interests. They both love a good game night, anything Razorbacks, cooking and entertaining, and are both close to their families to name a few. Hannah invited Sam to a Razorback football game and Sam would invite Hannah out. One night, after a game of Catan, Hannah and Sam started talking and realizing they liked each other. A few nights later, Sam asked Hannah out and the rest is history!
Some three years later, Sam (finally) decided it was time to propose! It was December 23rd, both of their families were home for the holidays. Sam told Hannah to get ready for a family photo because his mom, Jacqueline, needed one for a New Years card. Under the guise of that family photo, Sam took Hannah to the Old Main lawn on the University of Arkansas campus and proposed in front of the famous Spoofer's stone! If you're unfamiliar with Spoofer's stone, it’s a large limestone rock on the U of A campus that has served as a longstanding place where students at the U of A get engaged. When Sam proposed to Hannah, they were both flooded with excitement and happiness.
Hannah and Sam couldn't be more thrilled to start the next chapter of their lives together and can't wait to share and celebrate their wedding with you soon!
